Warning!
I have my moments, tho rare, when I can be quite composed and even intelligent. Yes, Carolyn, you can stop laughing now. ( Carolyn's my big Sis. I still love her, tho. ) I will strive in these postings, when the occasion presents itself, to prove that. I can also be long winded, critical, cranky, much too honest, picky and boring. As I am proving right now. I did warn you and if you are still reading this then you are either very bored or boring yourself or you see a little of yourself in my ramblings or you are just curious how anyone could devote this much time to explaining their self to strangers! Here goes!!

I have an L.L. Bean thermometer hanging on a post on my back porch. I knew this thermometer and I would become friends, the first summer of ownership, when I went out on the patio of the house we owned at the time and it read 100 degrees. I have seen it reach that temperature and higher a few times over the past 8 or 9 years and have also seen it drop down in the teens a couple times, even though it doesn't stay there very long. You have to remember we live in the South and temps don't go below freezing often, but they do like to rise on up there in the 90's and 100's on the hot, humid and almost tropical summer days we have. I look out my window each morning to check this reliable old friend to see how I should dress for work. Now I know the weather man might say it is going to be a high of 6o today, but, my friend says it is now 29 ( just like my age! ). Should I wear short sleeves, long sleeves, a jacket, a coat, gloves and a scarf?
Today my friend is stuck on 39 degrees and refuses to budge even tho it is already 12 o'clock noon have forecast a little ol' ice storm to come in here for the weekend, however, all we have seen so far is rain. Hmmm! The squirrels have been extra busy the last few days tho!
It is Saturday and I am not going anywhere. It can come a little ol' blizzard for all I care, as long as the thermostat in the hallway reads " toasty warm" I'll be fine. I'll keep watching the thermometer on the back porch and if I should observe anything interesting I'll let yall know!
